2. 암기할 문장

(1) As inflation and interest rates have soared, some people are forced to take second jobs to pay their debt.

(2) A 34-year-old office worker living in Yongin, Gyeonggi, has been working as a driver on weekends for three months, even though he works for one of the biggest companies in the country.

(3) Interest costs doubled and expenses skyrocketed as prices of groceries and eating out all rose.

It has been said that Koreans who took out a loan for housing or businesses when interest rates were low are having a hard time living on a salary of about 2.5 million won. Compared to the past, inflation that has started with the U.S. Federal Reserve lowering interest rates during the last two years is not hitting many household so hard, as interest rates have begun to be raised to make inflation subside. It is a sort of a transitional time that inflation has a bit decreased in comparison to the last month but is still high enough to disturb people from making ends meet. Costs for groceries and eating out have went up too high and even the middle class has to hold back their urge to buy things and eat out.
