#5. What's your kid's favorite book? And why do you think she/he likes it?
These days, I have been reading my kid Usborne Sound Books by Sam Taplin. I got him "Jungle Sounds," "Woodland Sounds," "Noisy Farm," and "Noisy Orchestra" on his 100 days.
Whenever I read these books aloud, I try to show him my different facial expressions in a bit effusive way, with my eyes and mouth wide open. I believe that his makes him pay more attention to the books. Also, I point out words or sentences that carry important meanings in relation to images in the books. I love to watch his eyes follow my finger pointing, as I feel like he is being actively involved and engaged in reading books with me.
These books are full of colorful eye-catching images. My son sometimes just stare at those images for a while without sounds, scrutinizing every detail of them. These books are desgined to enhance tactile stimulation, so every page has punched holes in places.
But my son's favorite part of these books is the realistic sounds. Whenever I push the sound buttons, he turns his head to the direction where the sounds come from. He sometimes got really scared of the growling sound of a tiger and even cried a little, which was really cute and lovely. I am planning to buy him more series of Usborne books.
